QUALITY STANDARDS and SPECIFICATION
Antrim Carpets conforms to all the current United Kingdom and European quality standards, as all carpets manufactured are under the same quality standards:
Flammability:
Hot metal nut test @ 900c (BS 4790)
All qualities classed as having a low radius of effects of ignition and therefore conforms to BS 5287: 1988 (1996), when tested accordingly to BS 4790. (Both systems where tested loose laid and stuck-down)
Fire tests according to BS 6307: 1982 / ISO 6925-1982 (1993) ASTM D 2859-02. loose laid.
Fire tests according to ANSI/ASTM E648 00/NFPA 253 1995. loose laid.
BS 1051: 1981. Dept of Transport (Passenger Ship). IMO FTPC Part 5 IMO resolution A.653 (16).
Tuft Anchorage:
BS 5229, Average 800gms
Static Electricity:
No discomfort from discharge of static electricity is to be expected under normal indoors-atmospheric conditions.
Biological:
All pile yarns are treated with permethrim-based agent giving active resistance to moth and beetle attacks.
Underfelt / Underlay:
All underfelt and underlay supplied by Antrim Carpets are flame retardant and conform to BS 4790 / BS 6307.
Colour Fastness:
Colour Fastness to Light BS 1006. All shades 5 or better.
Colour Fastness to Water BS 1006. All shades 4 or better.
Colour Fastness to Shampooing BS 1006.
Colour Fastness to Rubbing BS 2677.
Heavy shades 3-4, all other shades 4.
Heavy shades 3-4, all other shades 4 (wet & dry).
